WBTHC 3 v Morpeth 4

WBTHC 3 v Morpeth 4

Tynemouth Men’s 3rds came off a two week hiatus with an explosive performance from a team enjoying their hockey. A whizz-bang of a goal set the home side off to a good start as Tom Fuller buried Dan Coleman’s cross at the second time of asking. Despite dominating possession many of Tynemouth’s attacks fizzled out in the final third giving the visitors hope for the second half.

This hope was soon doused by two quick-fire goals; the first, a rocket from Harvey Emms from the top of the D, quickly followed by a fortunate miss-hit strike from debutant Alan Barlow. Despite pressure from the ignited Morpeth team, the hosts defended stalwartly keeping their second clean sheet in two matches. However as Morpeth pushed up in the closing moments of the match Tynemouth struck twice on the break; firstly Tom Fuller scoring a sparkling finish from a rebound off the post, his 8th goal in 4 matches; before right-winger Abel Petho scored a real screamer of a shot from the edge of the D.

This pyrotechnic display from the home side puts them well in contention for promotion this season as they recorded their 3rd win in 4 matches!

WBTHC 3 (5-0) Morpeth 4
