Whitley Bay & Tynemouth 2nd XI continued their unbeaten run following a 6-1 victory over local rivals, North Shields. Whitley Bay & Tynemouth started well, pressurising North Shields with a strong attack straight from push back. Following an excellent move down the right hand side, the ball came through to Felix Evans, who scored the opening goal with a well placed reverse stick shot finding the net.

Whitley Bay & Tynemouth dominated much of the first half possession, creating several chances, which were denied by good saves from North Shields' goalkeeper. North Shields' defence were working hard to withstand the Whitley Bay & Tynemouth attacks before Jim Butler penetrated the circle following a run from defence, winning a short corner following a stick tackle from a North Shields defender. Felix Evans extended Whitley Bay & Tynemouth's lead with a drag flick to the bottom left corner. Felix Evans sealed his hattrick with an excellent finish following a good move between Tristan Smith and Ben Noble through the midfield.



North Shields battled hard, winning a short corner after the ball hit a Whitley Bay & Tynemouth player's foot in the circle. North Shields managed to pull one back from a well rehearsed short corner despite Keeper Sam Read saving the first shot. Whitley Bay & Tynemouth responded immediately, winning a short corner but failing to convert it. Whitley Bay & Tynemouth continued to dominate play and Patrick Meredith split the North Shields' defence with superbly placed through-ball to Dan Adams, who then slotted it neatly past the goalkeeper to get Whitley Bay & Tynemouth's fourth of the game. Felix Evans scored his fourth of the game to put Whitley Bay & Tynemouth 5-1 up at half time.

North Shields bounced back in the second half, battling hard to try and get back into the game. Both sides worked hard throughout the second half and created chances, coming close to extending the scoring. Despite being denied one goal due to hitting the player's foot, Whitley Bay & Tynemouth were able to extend their lead following another well placed drag flick from Felix Evans. Whitley Bay & Tynemouth further secure their lead at the top of the league with 22 points and extending their goal difference to 32.
