Welcome to the Whitley Bay & Tynemouth Hockey Club website, home of the premier field hockey team in Newcastle and the North East. Established since 1902 WBTHC has provided top quality hockey coaching to hundreds of players over the years, with the women's first team playing on the EHL Conference League and the men’s first team playing in the North League Premier Division.

Originally a men’s team known as Tynemouth Hockey Club, the team has since merged with the local women’s team, Whitley Bay Ladies and more recently with Sunderland Ladies, to form one of the biggest field hockey teams in Newcastle. Now with 3 men’s, 4 women’s, a Veterans' and a Junior team, Whitley Bay & Tynemouth Hockey Club is the hockey team to join, whether you want to play competitive hockey or just have fun. With two brand new sand-based astro pitches and a great social side too you would be crazy to look at any other hockey club in Newcastle. You can download a Membership Form here.
